Still Time to E-mail President Obama to Save Whales, March 2, 2009
There is still time to contact President Barack Obama to stop the Bush Administration holdovers, who are running the US International Whaling Commission (IWC) delegation, from selling out the whales and dolphins in a rotten deal with the Japanese Fisheries Agency.
The IWC meets in Rome to discuss the deal March 9-11. Environmental organizations, including the Save Japan Dolphins Coalition, have been meeting with representatives of the Obama Administration and members of Congress. Several members of Congress have in turn joined the chorus, urging President Obama to stop the negotiating and return US policy at the IWC to one of protecting whales, not allowing Japan to legally slaughter them.
